Where does Life to the Full cover the Protected Characteristics?
Life to the Full supports schools in teaching about the Protected Characteristics within a Catholic context. This is approached through the programme’s emphasis on human dignity, respect for others, difference, family life, relationships, community, anti-bullying and living well together.
The programme helps pupils understand that every person has innate dignity and should be treated with respect, while supporting Catholic schools to teach this content in a way that is faithful to Catholic teaching.
Where can I find the guidance? The clearest place to find information about this is in the Guidance on Protected Characteristics document.
This document provides:
- A summary of the expectations on schools
- Guidance on how Ten Ten supports Catholic primary and secondary schools in teaching about the Protected Characteristics
- An explanation of how this sits within the Life to the Full programme
- Support for teaching this content through a Catholic lens
Super Users can access the document by logging in to the Ten Ten website and following this pathway:
Life to the Full → Programme Coordinators → Guidance Documents → Guidance on Protected Characteristics
Please note that access to this area may depend on your school’s subscription and user permissions.
What other documents may be helpful? You may also find the Programme Mapping documents helpful. These show how Life to the Full links with statutory guidance and wider curriculum requirements.
These can also be found in the Programme Coordinator area of the website.
