What are Programme Pathways and which one should we use?
Overview
Programme Pathways are suggested models to help schools plan how to deliver Life to the Full across the academic year.
What are Programme Pathways?
Programme Pathways provide structured options for delivering the curriculum depending on your timetable and school context.
They help schools:
- Sequence lessons effectively
- Ensure full curriculum coverage
- Adapt delivery to time constraints
Which pathway is recommended?
Programme Pathway #3 is the recommended model.
- Delivers the full programme across three terms each year
- Repeats learning stages (e.g. KS1 taught in Year 1 and Year 2)
- Supports a spiral curriculum approach
What if we have limited curriculum time?
You may wish to consider:
- Programme Pathway #2 (two-year cycle)
- Adapting delivery across year groups
This allows schools to:
- Maintain coverage
- Reduce pressure on timetabling
